An Analytical Study of Master's Theses Approved by the Department of Education, Faculty of Education, Sabr, University of Lahej, During the Period (2013-2022)

Abstract

The study aimed to analyze the master's theses approved by the Department of Education, Faculty of Education, Saber, Lahej University, during the period (2013-2022). The study adopted the descriptive approach, and the sample consisted of (86) master's theses representing all the theses approved by the Department of Education, distributed between the specialization of educational administration and supervision, with (48) theses and (38) theses in curricula and teaching methods. The researchers used a form to collect information as a tool for the study. After collecting and statistically analyzing the data, the results showed that most of the theses specializing in educational administration and supervision dealt with educational administration in general at a rate of (25.0%), followed by the field of comprehensive quality at a rate of (10.4%). In the specialization of curricula and teaching methods, their targeting of the field of using teaching strategies came in first place at a rate of (60.6%), followed by the field of educational technologies in second place at a rate of (23.7%). As for the method used, the management theses used the descriptive approach at a rate of 100%, and the curriculum theses used the quasi-experimental design at a rate of (73.7%), and no historical study was conducted. The results also showed that most of the management theses s used the questionnaire at a rate of (97.9%), and the curriculum theses used the test at a rate of (42.1%). As for the statistical methods, the results showed that the percentage of theses that used the t- test was (97%) and the percentage of those which used variance analysis was (62.69%). The study recommended the necessity of balance and diversity in research methodologies and its various tools, and developing a research map according to a scientific strategy and specific objectives that include research priorities that stem from the university’s needs and linking them to the needs and aspirations of society in a way that develops scientific research.
