Spatial Analysis of Natural Resources and their Impact on Agricultural Activity in Ahwar Delta: A Study in Economic Geography
Abstract
This study provided a geographical-agricultural analysis of natural resources and the extent of their contribution to the development of agricultural activity in the Ahwar Delta. The natural geographical elements are considered the material basis on which the development of agricultural activity depends, due to the strength of the mutual relationship in terms of the growth of agricultural crops and their spatial distribution on the surface of the earth. This relationship appears in the effect of climate on agricultural soil, in terms of its composition and properties, and its reflection on the development and growth of agricultural crops. While agricultural operations were closely linked to climatic characteristics, such as the effect of solar radiation, heat, humidity, and rainfall, on the development of agricultural activity. The impact of water on increasing the agricultural area is also evident, reflecting the extent of the development of agricultural development in the Ahwar Delta. This study focused on the importance of investing in these natural geographical resources which can help shaping a more developed future for agricultural activity in Ahwar Delta.
